Legend Buttes Golf Course
Legend Buttes Golf Course is a 9 hole course located on the west side of the City on Highway 20 between Fort Robinson and Crawford at the base of the picturesque "Red Cloud Buttes". Designed by Mr. Weiss, it was opened in 1992. T he course features 3,178 yards of golf for a par of 36, a course rating of 35.2 and a slope rating of 125. The course is open April 1st to October 1st with additional play as the weather permits. Reservations are not required although suggested.The White River flows through the course and the scenic surroundings offer tree lined fairways, wildflowers, prairie grasses and sometimes wildlife.
A magnificent view of the Red Cloud Buttes can be seen from the 1st hole.
From time to time Long Horn Cattle can be seen at the edge of the course near holes two and three.
The first three holes are fairly simple while things get a little more difficult on the fourth hole.
The fifth hole has a hillside tee box and is very challenging. It has water on the right with brush and trees to the left making a straight ball a must. Golfers will find the spectacular view and the play worth the difficulty.
Play through holes six, seven and eight as you again cross over the White River and out on the greens.
The ninth hole is a great finishing hole. There are enough hazards to keep you alert while the chance for a big hitter to get home in two is possible.
Across the pond the clubhouse is in view.
Round out your day at the Club House for refreshments and a snack. Relax on the patio and take in the view.
Visit the Pro Shop for your golfing needs or pick up a bucket of balls and hit the driving range.
